Beginner Vinyasa with Elisa Stearns ~ Mondays 11:00am
In this class you will learn the fundamentals of a Vinyasa practice. Vinyasa is the flow between the poses, synchronizing your breath to your movement. This practice derives the ancient salutations to the sun, Surya Namaskar. This synchronization of breath and movement revitalizes every aspect of your being from physical to spiritual by releasing blocked energy You will become familiar with the principles of a safe practice as breath, alignment and focused awareness will be emphasized. You will learn to create a balanced foundation while drawing into and accessing your core, and from that place of center, reach out and find the expression of the pose. In accessing your core energy, or your inner strength, on all levels; physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually, you can begin to explore and challenge yourself, all while moving at the pace of your breath, ultimately surrendering to the balance and beauty of the postural practice. Your practice, in turn will become an expression of who you are.
