Introducing a NEW movement class to
Montclair taught by Shelley Nierenberg, a well-established children's movement educator for over 15 years.
In these classes young dancers are carefully guided through basic
exploration of motor skills, musicality and rhythms in a fun and creative environment.
Creative Movement- 2 & 3 years old The curriculum focuses on exploring the child's own creativity while
adding an
introduction to basic Ballet vocabulary and movements while exploring
basic
motor skills through movement, music, and props. 12 week session: Fridays 3:45-4:30pm Sept. 23- Dec. 16 (no class Nov.

Shelley Nierenberg has been directing the
world renowned School at Peridance-Peridance
Capezio Center
in Union Square for more
than 12 years and teaching Creative Movement, Modern, Jazz and Tap
classes to
kids of all ages for over 15 years.
While in her hometown of
Minneapolis, MN she studied at Dance Arts Center and Ballet
Arts. She furthered her dance education at the Conservatory of
Dance at Barat College, DePaul University, receiving a BA in Dance and
graduating with honor in 1997. While in Chicago she
taught at North Shore School of dance and choreographed for
the musical theater department at Loyola Academy. After moving
to New York City she began dancing with two choreographers,
Danielle DePersis and Dancers and Debora Damast and Dancers.
She is very happy to be teaching tap, jazz, choreography and
summer dance camps within The School at Peridance, along with
directing the Peridance Youth Ensemble.
Shelley's desire to
start a movement class here in Montclair is from her two beautiful
nieces who desperately want to learn Ballet, together with some of their
friends and some new friends she hopes to bring the love and creativity
of music and dance to Montclair and Yogadesha.
