Therapeutic Essential Oil Anointing (with optional sound healing)

In Raindrop Technique, a series of pure, therapeutic grade essential oils is massaged onto the feet and back. While profoundly relaxing, the technique is also very powerful because the recipient receives both healing touch and the revitalizing energies of the natural world, via the essential oils. Raindrop is an excellent choice for supporting spinal alignment, immune strength, circulation, digestion, and stress relief.

Let’s start with some Raindrop stories from www.oil-testimonials.com…

Sciatic nerve discomfort and a Raindrop Session
Author: Renee Watson    Posted: 2007-12-15
I have an older woman friend that has me do Raindrop on her each week. She says it takes away most of her pain, so she is able to take care of the rest of the pain each morning with an Anacin. Prior to trying Raindrop, she had tremendous pain that kept her on the inactive list. Now she is able to go to work and socialize as she wishes.

Raindrop and lymphatic oedema

I applied a raindrop session on a young lady which came just for interest in a new treatment. Before we started I saw on her left foot a swelling and asked her about the reason. Then she told me that this developed a couple of weeks ago without knowing the reason. Her doctor recommended her to take lyphatic drainage on a regular basis for a while accompanied with pressure bandage. She took this for a while but without success. I applied the regular Raindrop Technique, and afterwards, when I pulled on her both legs I recognized the swelling was gone. It was a great surprise for the two of us.

I came to a point in my life where I… was just unmotivated… After receiving a Raindrop Treatment I became revitalized mentally, physically, and spiritually…. Also I had not been able to lose weight for over a month. After the raindrop I lost 5 pounds in the next week and have steadily lost weight since.... This treatment will awaken you to limitless possibilities. I will now be enjoying treatments on a regular basis to maintain a healthy lifestyle and spiritual well-being. - As written by Sarah Waner

Lou Gehrigs Disease

In 2004, I was diagnosed with ALS. My massage therapist gave me a raindrop treatment every week for 8 months. At the end of that time, my third MRI showed that all the areas of concern were no longer there. The raindrop therapy was a significant part of my attack plan. Prior to my diagnosis, I was falling down on a daily basis and my left leg would often be the cause of the fall. I could no longer run or stand on my left leg alone. I can now do both.

Raindrop Technique overcame scoliosis
Author: Mindi Montes    Posted: 2008-10-10
I was diagnosed at 15 years old with scoliosis (spinal misalignment) and my MD said I would have to surgically install a metal bar and would be bedridden in the last trimester of my pregnancies. A friend told me about his miraculous experience with Raindrop Technique corrected his spinal misalignment, and he could finally walk up straight and even play with his children again. I tried the Raindrop Therapy and within four treatments I could see and feel the difference as my spine straightened and hips aligned. It's the most amazing experience, to say the least.

The origins of Raindrop technique in Native American healing practices.
Gary Young, inventor of the Raindrop Technique, found out many years ago while visiting with a group of Lakota Sioux that before the border between the United States and Canada was in place, the Lakota would every so often migrate to the northern regions of Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Those who were ill would stand facing the northern lights in these regions, hold their hands toward the lights, and inhale deeply to spread the healing energy they felt in the air when the northern lights were visible, through their spine or other parts of the body.

Once the international border made such migrations impossible, the Lakota began to use “effleurage” or feathered finter stroking, combined with mentally processing energy. Gary Young found that when these practices were combined with the use of essential oils and a massage technique called Vita Flex, the healing effects were greatly heightened. People have been telling stories about Raindrop ever since, of which I’ve given you a small sampling above.

What is Raindrop Technique? Raindrop technique is the application of nine therapeutic grade oils from Young Living Essential Oils to the feet and spine using various types of touch, including VitaFlex technique (a form of reflex massage that is very effective in releasing energy stagnations in the body), finger stroking or effleurage, and various massage strokes.
The standard Raindrop uses Valor blend, oregano, thyme, basil, cypress, wintergreen, marjoram, Aroma Siez blend, and peppermint. Other combinations of oils may be used to address specific health issues.

How is Raindrop potentially beneficial to health?
Raindrop has been used around the world since 1989. It is a powerful therapy for creating relaxation, emotional release and balancing, tissue cleansing, and help with spinal misalignments. Blood analysis studies shows that it normalizes red blood cell function, normalizes hormone levels, and helps the body balance infectious agents, such as fungi.

How does it support the spine? An idea now being explored and verified in medical science is that some types of spinal misalignment are caused by viruses or bacteria forming colonies along the spine. In trying to deal with these microbe colonies, the body creates inflammation, which is a healing response. In cases of spinal misalignment, the infection/inflammation cycle has become chronic, and the inflammation then affects the alignment of the spinal column.

Raindrop therapy is a non-invasive technique that has helped many hundreds of people with scoliosis, kyphosis (hunchback), and chronic back pain to avoid surgery. The oils used in the Raindrop session mobilize the immune system, oxygenate, nourish, and detoxify the cells along the spine, and also have the ability to directly kill large numbers of bacteria and viruses, thereby helping the body to re-establish a new balance with these microbes.

Raindrop as a complement to asana practice. A healthy spinal column is at the core of asana practice. Raindrop technique reduces inflammation and misalignments of the spine, thus contributing to the maximum possible strength and flexibility of the spine. Our nervous systems also emerge from the spine. When the spine is healthy and aligned, the nerves are able to conduct impulses properly to the muscles. We are then at our most co-ordinated; In addition, the internal organs also function better when they are receiving proper nerve impulses.

Where can I get Raindrop technique? When you order the Raindrop Oil Kit from Young Living Essential Oils, you receive a DVD that explains how to do the technique. Many friends and family members have used this DVD, plus written instructions found in the Essential Oil Desk Reference, 4th Edition, to teach themselves and trade Raindrops with each other as a way of expressing affection and support. Various on-line directories can help you locate a Raindrop technique practitioner in your area. I offer Raindrop technique in Montclair, and it is easy to book a session with me online at www.yogadesha.com, or by calling Yoga Desha at 973-707-7726.

Sibylle_Preuschat_Balsam

Reverend Sibylle Preuschat experienced, in her twenties, a health crisis for which conventional medicine had no answers. She realized then that to be of help to herself and eventually, others, she needed to begin learning far beyond what she had been taught about healthcare growing up. She has explored the world of holistic healing as open-mindedly as possible ever since. The question that guides her always is “What works?".

Sibylle is an essential oil educator and works exclusively with Young Living Essential Oils due to their unparalleled purity and potency. She is excited to offer essential oil anointings, called Raindrop Technique, to the Yoga Desha community, because in her experience, Raindrop is profoundly relaxing, revitalizing, immune-building, detoxifying, and highly supportive of the spine.

Sibylle is also a singer with many years training and has recently released a CD of healing meditations under her artist's name, Balsam, with drummer Alfredo Villela. (For more information, please visit
www.loveandrespect.info. She is happy to sing for you during a Raindrop session if you feel that healing sound would add to your experience.

Sibylle brings to her sessions a great range of knowledge and experience. For thirteen years she worked as a journalist, writer/researcher, and editor in the field of holistic wellness and nutrition. Her numerous publication credits include four years as the health columnist for Toronto’s NOW magazine, the Toronto, Canada equivalent of the Village Voice <www.nowtoronto.com>. Her last book project of this career was editing the memoirs of Abram Hoffer, the founder of orthomolecular (nutrition-based) psychiatry.

In addition, Sibylle has third degree certification in Traditional Japanese Reiki (TJR), a Reiki system considered by many to be truest to the original teachings of Dr. Usui, founder of Reiki healing. She apprenticed for three years in the use of flower essences with Andrea Mathieson, founder of Raven Essences (
